Raj Thurasingam - A3acus Partnership

raj Thuraisingham

I am an Ashridge Accredited Relational Coach and have completed the Advanced Management and Executive Coaching Master’s programme at HULT Ashridge. I am also recognised as a Senior Practitioner by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC).

Born in Malaysia and educated and trained in the UK, I have worked in the NHS since qualifying in 1987 and was appointed as a consultant in 1999. Over the course of my career, I have held a variety of leadership roles, with a particular focus over the last decade on Clinical Leadership. I currently serve as a Divisional Director and, in recent years, have acted as the Trust’s lead for Consultant Leadership and Development. I have also held senior leadership roles in European Medical Professional Societies.

My relational coaching practice involves the coach and coachee actively co-creating the coaching relationship and using it as a dynamic space for learning and insight. I regularly draw on evidence-based frameworks such as Transactional Analysis to support my work.

My professional background, combined with extensive experience of working with large, complex organisations, has given me valuable insights into how interpersonal relationships, organisational culture, and individual behaviours shape working environments.

This lived experience enables me to work effectively with coachees across both healthcare and non-healthcare sectors, helping them make meaningful and sustainable changes.

Testimonials for Raj Thuraisingham

Senior Public Sector Employee

Working with Raj has been genuinely transformative. He created a space of psychological safety where I felt confident to be open and honest, supported and yet gently challenged in all the right ways. His coaching helped me acknowledge self-constructed barriers and build opportunities.

Through our sessions, I gained clarity and felt empowered to push limits and step into my full potential. I am truly grateful for his guidance and would highly recommend him.

Clinical Leader

I worked with Raj for about a year when I was two years into my current substantive consultant role. At that time, I was struggling internally and professionally. I was experiencing significant imposter syndrome, finding it difficult to navigate some challenging relationships within my department, and questioning whether I was really achieving anything meaningful in my role. In truth, I was seriously considering leaving.

Meeting Raj was aturning point. He has an open, honest, and deeply kind approach to coaching. He is highly reflective and challenged my thinking in a way that was never destabilising. Instead, his style was consistently empowering.

I was able to speak with Raj about very sensitive issues, including my racial identity and experience of misogyny. At no point did he make me feel diminished or unsafe. On the contrary, he created a genuinely safe space where these conversations could be explored thoughtfully and respectfully.

After about a year of coaching, I felt more confident and grounded. I became better able to express myself, ask for what I needed, and set clear boundaries between myself, my work, and the multiple roles I hold within it. I rediscovered joy in the parts of my work that truly matter to me and developed a thicker skin, while still staying true to who I am. That balance is not easy to achieve in the NHS, and the coaching was instrumental in helping me find it.

I still check in with Raj from time to time, and if I ever need further professional coaching, he would without question be the first person I would go to.

Senior NHS worker

Raj is an exceptional coach, whom I would highly recommend. From the outset, he created a safe and supportive space where I felt genuinely heard and understood. Throughout our coaching sessions, he helped me shift how I view myself and how I approach challenging situations. He encouraged me to develop confidence in who I am and believe in myself, while also supporting me to identify practical and meaningful ways to move towards my goals.

Before working with Raj, I struggled with self-belief, despite being very capable in my role. Raj has a distinctive ability to listen deeply and then ask thoughtful, insightful questions that gently encourage reflection. His compassionate approach, particularly his use of the Parent-Adult-Child (PAC) model, really resonated with me and continues to influence how I think about and navigate difficult situations.

I tend to keep quiet when I’m unsure how to handle certain dynamics, but through Raj’s gentle, probing style, I began to gain confidence and find my own voice. He never told me what to do; instead, he supported and encouraged me to discover my own answers, helping me to reflect, grow and develop greater confidence in myself.

Raj’s coaching has made a genuine difference to me. he listened without judgement, encouraged me at exactly the right moments and helped me to see my own strengths more clearly. I am very grateful for his guidance and support and would recommend him without hesitation.
